  • World Watsu® Week reminds us that the values on which aquatic bodywork is built — respect, listening, and deep human connection — can contribute to greater understanding among people and to a more peaceful world. Peace & Love for everyone around the world
Across the long history of Watsu®, the year 2019 marked the first time when this event was held in a large number of countries and cities simultaneously. Countless practitioners and clients were involved all over the world. Seeing that the event had such a success and created a huge wave of cooperation, we decided to continue and to make a tradition out of the World Watsu® Week.
In 2020 and 2021, World Watsu® Week was strongly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and many events were limited, postponed, or cancelled. Since 2022, when different measures were in place in different countries, World Watsu® Week has gradually resumed regular organization, and we are happy to continue introducing and presenting Watsu® to the general public.
Since 2026, we have added the theme “Together on One Wave” and expanded the activities of World Watsu® Week to include other techniques represented within WABA that are also highly beneficial — Oceanic Bodywork®Aqua, Healing Dance®, Water Dance®, and Jahara®. Each country can choose its own way of participating and presenting the event. In some places it will be possible to offer sessions or demonstrations, organize lectures, or at least publish an article or a new video about aqua bodywork in warm water. Even a small reminder is valuable, and we firmly believe that soon everyone will have the opportunity to try and personally experience aquatic bodywork. World Watsu®Week is organized on March 22–28, 2026, aligned with traditionally begins on World Water Day, March 22. In regions using outdoor pools, some events may instead take place on May 18–24, while still symbolically connecting to the global celebration on March 22. Our shared “Together on One Wave” spirit can continue until the May dates. Our goal is to allow everyone to experience at least one aquatic therapy session free of charge. Participants may, of course, contribute voluntarily to support the organizers and volunteers and help cover the operational costs associated with the event. World Watsu® Week reminds us that the values on which aquatic bodywork is built — respect, listening, and deep human connection — can contribute to greater understanding among people and to a more peaceful world. PEACE & LOVE for all! Enjoy World Watsu® Week!
